Shiitaki Mushroom Tea is traditionally known to reduce fever, help relax a contracted and tense mental condition, and help dissolve accumulation of fat tissue resulting from excess animal food consumption.
Note: In creating vital health, what is more important than what we eat is what foods we fail to excrete. Thus, exercise and awareness of individual food sensitivities are essential to creating vital health. The same guideline applies to the effects of emotions on our health. Adverse emotional/mental scenarios help us to grow when we learn from them and hold us back, creating stagnation until we resolve them. In any given moment, ask, Am I using life or is life using me? Thus comes the usefulness of shiitake tea.
Contraindication: If you notice yourself getting too relaxed, with a lack of motivation and a little cold, it’s time to cut back on the shiitake tea. Generally speaking, one cup a day for a week, followed by one cup once a week, and then used whenever you sense you require it, is helpful for most people.
Soak one shiitaki mushroom in one cup of water for 20-30 minutes. When soft, chop finely. Bring water to a boil. Reduce flame and simmer gently 10-15 minutes.
Add a pinch of sea salt or a few drops of shoyu/soy sauce towards the end. Drink while hot.
Note: For children 4 years old or under, omit seasoning the tea.
